A rough gravel road through a small quarry leads to a picnic area and river access just below the breached dam at Lyman Falls in Columbia, NH, with parking, a moldering privy, and picnic tables, and a beautiful cobble beach with excellent swimming and fishing. The town of Columbia's Conservation Commission recently established a paddler campsite on town-owned land. The late commissioner, Bill Schomburg, was an avid supporter of river recreation and conservation efforts in the Great North Woods region. The campsites are now being stewarded by Bill's long time paddling partner and neighbor John Fogg.

This site is part of the Connecticut River Paddlers Trail, which includes campsites, access points, and portage trails along the river.
