Essex is a charming town located in Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States. It’s part of the Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region and had a population of 6,733 as of the 2020 census. The town is composed of three unique villages: Essex Village, Centerbrook, and Ivoryton. Essex is well-known for its beautiful landscapes, majestic trees and gardens, fascinating architecture, and cultural and historical attractions. It’s ideally located on the Connecticut River, just a few short miles from Long Island Sound, making it a popular boating and sailing destination. .
