This boat ramp is located at the south end of Savage Reservoir in the Savage River State Forest. The reservoir is a 230-acre reservoir that provides fishing and paddling opportunities in a scenic, wilderness setting. The reservoir has three access points, this one is near the Savage River Dam. Only kayaks, canoes, and small paddle boats/electric powered boats are permitted on the reservoir. Anglers enjoy fishing for catfish, trout, and bass. Depending on the season, visitors may see grouse, ducks, great blue herons, king fishers and minks. Other access points are at Dry Run and the northern end of the reservoir at Big Run State Park. The USGS gage on the Savage River is below the dam and reflects releases from the reservoir.
