Peirce Mill

National Park Service Site

The mill is a restored gristmill near the Fall Line. Until the late 1990s, Pierce Mill was the sole survivor of a number of water-powered mills that were found along Rock Creek in the 18th and 19th centuries. Until the late 1990s, Pierce Mill ground cornmeal and wheat for sale to mill visitors. A renovation project has been planned, but it may be several years before the old mill is completely restored. The Art Barn, located adjacent to Pierce Mill, shows artwork by local artists. Both Pierce Mill and the Art Barn are open Wednesday through Sunday except holidays.
