Arlington National Cemetery

The cemetery was established during the Civil War by the U.S. Army. Today, it serves all branches of the armed services and includes the graves of Presidents William Howard Taft and John F. Kennedy, as well as more than 240,000 American military personnel, national heroes, and their spouses. The visitor center is open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. from April through September, and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from October through March. There is a fee for parking in the garage.
