Storm King Mountain Park
Park

Storm King is an 1,884-acre park prized by hikers for its pristine beauty. The area was the center of a legal battle in the 1960s and 1970s over construction of a power plant that was proposed for the base of Storm King Mountain on the Hudson River. In 1980, Consolidated Edison donated several hundred acres to expand a park in the area. The park is managed by the Palisaides Interstate Park Commission and the Palisaides Park Conservancy.
