Monocacy River Boat Ramp
River Access Point

The Maryland DNR operates a boat ramp for small vessels to reach the Monocacy River. There are 10 parking spaces. The ramp is located off Route 28 and Park Mills Road south of Frederick. The site is part of the Monocacy River Natural Resources Management Area. The boat ramp sits just south of Frederick and serves as one of the primary public access points to the Monocacy Scenic River Water Trail. Managed by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, the site offers a well?maintained concrete ramp, a small parking area, and easy shoreline access beneath the Route 28 bridge. Its location makes it a convenient launch for paddlers, anglers, and small?craft boaters heading upstream toward quieter stretches of the river or downstream toward the Potomac. The setting is characteristically peaceful--wooded banks, steady current, and plenty of wildlif--yet close enough to major roads to make loading and unloading simple.
