Riverside Park City of Frederick
River Access Point

Riverside Park sits along a broad, gentle bend of the Monocacy River in Frederick and serves as one of the city?s most convenient small?craft access points. Its concrete boat ramp is the heart of the site--a straightforward, easy?grade launch that lets paddlers slip kayaks and canoes into the water without any hassle. The ramp?s position just off the open lawn gives it a relaxed, unfussy feel, and the surrounding trees frame a surprisingly quiet stretch of river despite being close to town.
Whether someone is heading upstream toward shaded meanders or downstream toward the Potomac, Riverside Park offers a practical, welcoming gateway to the Monocacy. Riverside Park has parking for 60 vehicles and a concrete ramp, but the access site can be muddy after rains. While this site has a concrete boat ramp, be aware that due to the shallow, rocky nature of the Monocacy River, the site will only accommodate small, shallow draft boats with trolling motors.
