The K&T Trail in Philadelphia is a scenic, multi-use path along the Delaware River that blends history, nature, and recreation. Stretching through Northeast Philadelphia, the Kensington & Tacony Trail—often called the K&T Trail—follows the route of a former industrial rail line that once served riverfront factories. Today, it’s part of the Riverfront North initiative and the Circuit Trails network, offering a paved, accessible route for walking, biking, and skating. The trail currently spans about two miles, connecting Lardner’s Point Park near the Tacony-Palmyra Bridge to Frankford Arsenal Boat Launch, with plans to eventually link to the larger Delaware River Trail. Along the way, users enjoy views of the river, native plantings, and interpretive signs that highlight the area's industrial and ecological history. The trail also provides access to one of Philadelphia’s few public boat launches, making it a valuable resource for both land and water recreation. As part of a broader vision to revitalize the Delaware waterfront, the K&T Trail invites residents and visitors to explore a quieter, greener side of the city.
