The Coppermines Trail is a 2.0-mile-long trail that is located in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The trail is a challenge to some, so it is recommended to wear sturdy footwear and pack extra water. The trail passes an old copper mine, goes through a magnificent gorge, and climbs to the ridge of the Kittatinny Mountains, with several panoramic viewpoints. The trailhead is located at the Copper Mines Parking Area, which is marked by a sign.Part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. The 70,000-acre park follows 40 miles of the Middle Delaware National Scenic and Recreational River through the Delaware Water Gap.
