Part of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. This access point is reached by paved road from U.S. 209 just south of Milford and .2 miles north of the U.S. 206 bridge. Services include parking for 80 vehicles, trash disposal, restrooms, drinking water, picnic sites, telephone and swimming as well as a paved boat ramp for all types of boating. An NPS amenity fee of $10 per day per vehicle is charged from April through October. Kittatinny Canoes operates a campground with canoeing, kayaking, and tubing nearby. The 70,000-acre park follows 40 miles of the Middle Delaware National Scenic and Recreational River through the Delaware Water Gap.
The next NPS access point is the Namanock Island Access, 4 miles downstream on the New Jersey side of the river. Other swimming areas in the Water Gap are at Smithfield Beach and Turtle Beach. Milford Beach has lifeguards from 10 am-6 pm Thursday during the summer. Be aware that there are no lifeguards at Smithfield or Turtle beaches - swim at your own risk. Photo: National Park Service.
