At river mile 4.6 of the West Branch of the Delaware, the Pennsylvania Fish Commission operates a public access boat ramp. The river here is within the Upper Delaware National Sceinc and Recreational River. Boats must show a valid Pennsylvania boat registration. The West Branch of the Delaware meets the East Branch near Hancock to form the main stem of the Delaware. Most land along the river is privately owned. Camping is allowed only in private campgrounds. The next access point downstream is at the Shelhawken access area at the mouth of Shehawken Creek (Delaware River mile 0.6).
