Great place

Cool little spot to do a quick hike in multiple directions or just sit by the water and watch the various turtles & birds.

Today the VA side of highway was closed due to major accident and traffic was at stand still.
Got to chat with several locals who had to call off work due to that closed highway and also came here to have a hike & enjoy nature.

Parking lot under the highway provides access.

There is also a railroad under the bridge, and you can get some cool images looking down the tracks.

The sycamore trees here are so old, huge, and massive. Just sitting looking at them is enjoyable too!

Today I saw what I believe was a huge old snapper turtle and some other kinds too.

This is a pleasant location and I felt very safe walking and hanging out here.

A wonderful place to relax. The river is shallow at this point, making it ideal for cooling off.

A lovely spot under the bridge. The clean water is perfect for relaxing after a hike.
