This is a great area to park and bike Northwest. Restrooms available here as well. It was a holiday weekend but you don't encounter many hikers on this portion of the trail which makes it easier to ride. Great views of river and caves. approximately 4.5 miles to Antietam area, so 9 miles total round trip.

This is a nice boat ramp. There is plenty of parking, and I had no issues launching my kayak off the cement ramp. It wasn’t too slippery and I just walked into the water until my boat was floating. We paddled upstream until there were some shallow rapids, and then we turned around. It took an hour-ish, but we stopped a lot. We saw turtles, green heron, great blue heron, belted kingfisher, and an osprey. Also a small muskrat swimming!! We heard that you can go downstream until there is a dam, but we only went about 5 min past the put-in in the downstream direction.

There were also bathrooms here.

The boat ramp is open now. Great access to the river and towpath. Lots of parking and restrooms available.

Narrow roads to get to this boat ramp but it's worth the drive.
