Human feces in the parking lot, the area is filled with trash, at least 30 people out there with lawn chairs and a large group dragged a gas grill out there. All of this inevitably gets swept into the river when rains cause the river to rise. FOUL. Maryland side is much nicer for fishing/boat launch.

At least 70 people are grilling from this point in the photo until the end of the shoreline. There is barely any spot to catch fish. There are so many big warning signs that say fires and swimming are not allowed, but no one seems to care. If you are not going to care, why put the signs? The whole place is full of trash and leftovers.

beautiful spot to get away and clear your mind, when the water is clear you can see the fish swimming in it, and when it is shallow like it was when I took the pictures you can walk all the way across the Potomac, I've done it :-)the fishing isn't that good on the Virginia side, if you drive over the blue bridge and make a right and go down to the boat ramp on the opposite side there's fishing. If you go to Brunswick, Maryland, 10 mi away there is also camping

We went off season to let our dog run. No one was around. Kiko loved it. Pretty place to see in the fall.
