Great place to drop in kayaks, tubes etc. for a trip down to pinecliff park. Also a good place to stop after a trip from Devilbiss Bridge.

There’s a nice path that runs along the river from here to Castle Rock Road in the Deerbought neighborhood that is about an hour walk (~3 miles). I’ve seen all sorts of wildlife on the path including owls, snakes, turtles, egrets, herons, eagles, kingfishers and much more.

This is an awesome public space, the trail is especially great. About 3 miles round trip and plenty of places to fish and let your dog swim.

Fished the waters when it was up 12" and muddy. They move very close to the bank. Fishing off the bank is tough competition for space. Went back and it was clear and very shallow. If the water isn't high, I wouldn't fish this spot.
Closing at 10 puts a damper on things when the bite is on. That chain goes up because it's posted. Take your vehicle out of the gate and cart your stuff down. I park on the road just outside. The county guys are cool so please just park up the hill and walk if you're gonna stay late. They want to go home too and when they have to wait for you to pack up and leave it's not cool.
4 stars because I hate walking my fishing gear. Haha. Tight lines.

Really beautiful spot, great to wade into the river for fishing or to start your kayak or tube day. Nice little walking trail nearby, too.

Easy put in for kayak, paddle boat, SUP or tube. Dog approved. Can float down to pinecliff boat ramp in aprox 2.5h (without paddling)
