The Noland Ferry area offers limited parking options, with two parking lots accommodating approximately 20 vehicles. However, the surrounding environment more than compensates for this limitation. The towpath, flat and well-paved, traverses a diverse landscape of open spaces and wooded sections, creating a hiking experience that is both pleasant and varied.
As visitors make their way along the trail, they are treated to stunning views of the Potomac River, particularly captivating against the muted colors of a winter landscape. While the natural beauty and serenity of the trail are undeniable, the historical significance of the C&O Canal should not be overlooked.
Remnants of locks, lockhouses, and aqueducts are visible along the towpath, offering a glimpse into the past and highlighting the pivotal role the canal played in shaping the region's economy and culture. This unique blend of natural and historical significance makes the C&O Canal a fascinating and enriching destination.
Additionally, the area features a well-appointed boat landing platform, making it a popular access point for water-based activities.

Nice stop over along the C&0 Canal towpath / trail. There is very limited parking, less than 10 vehicles. Good spot to start on a bike ride or launch a kayak on Potomac.
There is a launch area for jet skis and kayaks. It is quite steep for boats, who should use the point of Rocks or another boat ramp.

Great place to launch your boat. Also historic! George Washington and Thomas Jefferson crossed here at some point! The C & O Canal trail goes all the way to DC! Chesapeake and Ohio Canal. It’s also a great place to stay overnight. Camping is for thru hikers, but I stay in my self contained vehicle and LEAVE NO TRACE!!

Another entrance spot to the C&O canal and the Potomac River between Monocacy Aqueduct and Point of Rock. This spot seems pretty busy. I came here Thursday afternoon, the park lot was full. There is a boat ramp. This is one of my favorite location to launch kayak. The Potomac river view is beautiful!

This is a nice pull-off from the trail where you can sit and enjoy the view. There is a boat launch area there and decent parking. There is also a composting toilet house there that don't smell bad.
