Nice small boat ramp that is perfect to launch kayaks. I launched mine and paddled to Allegheny Fairgrounds boat ramp which took about 5 hours with a couple of stops along the way and light fishing as well. This ramp has a unique blocks construction that enable strong traction both on foot and with your vehicle.

"Boat ramp" is quite a bit of a stretch, with this section of the river, with little more than piles of rocks and boulders. Consider the term "canoe/kayak launch" and you'll probably find yourself less disappointed by your findings. Adequate parking, provided it hadn't rained the night before.

Nice lil place..
I dunno who the a-hole was who decided to carve his name in the maple tree via chainsaw but.. c'mon now.. What a d-bag.. Nontheless, the area still seems fairly clean (trash free for the most part) and safe (a video surveillance notice sign was posted, presumably, as a result of Mr. Chainsaw Brains).
I do wish they'd get some of that Tree of Heaven (Altissima ailanthus) outa there... ugly, ugly tree.. spreading rapidly.

The picture I posted is Davis hill drive and Google maps need to fix this.
