A small, quiet space to enjoy a historical American River. If you are coming here expecting high traffic, accommodations, numerous trails, etc. You will be disappointed. This space is to enjoy nature in near solitude.

I’m not sure it deserves 5 stars but it’s a park I’ve been to and have no reason to rate it less because natural resources are stupendous. This is where I went to try to get a look at some auroras and I might have captured them. Frederick, MD is directly north so there might be some light pollution. The sky was very open which is difficult to find in this area. Please note the park is closed by dark. 😅

This is a cornfield with a place to launch a kayak. The one path was not mowed recently. A disappointment.

They have to do something about people grilling and swimming. Everywhere is full of trash.

That's a convenient place to go have a picnic take the kids to play in the water other than that not much else there pretty crowded during the summer
