Saw The Lumineers at Nationals Park and it was one of those concerts that just sticks with you. The setting alone was perfect — open air, great weather, and that big stadium energy without feeling cold or overly massive.
The Lumineers sounded incredible live. Super tight musically, tons of emotion, and they did a great job making a huge venue feel personal. There were moments where the whole crowd was singing along, phones down, just fully in it, and those are the kinds of shows you remember. The sound carried really well throughout the park, which isn’t always a given for outdoor stadium shows.
Nationals Park handled the crowd smoothly too — getting in was organized, sightlines were solid, and there was plenty of room to move around without feeling packed in. Yes, concessions were stadium-priced, but that’s expected, and it didn’t take away from the experience.
All around, it was an amazing night — great band, great crowd, and a venue that really worked for the show. If you ever get the chance to see the Lumineers at Nationals Park, do it. Easily a five-star experience.

We visited Nationals Park for the Winter Lights event (not a game) and overall it was a really fun experience. The light displays were well done and festive, and the slides were honestly one of the highlights, way more fun than expected and great for all ages. It felt like a creative way to use the stadium during the off-season.
There was a speakeasy experience available, but the wait time was extremely long and not really worth standing in line for. That said, from what I could see peeking inside, the setup itself looked beautiful and thoughtfully designed, just not enough to justify the wait. Overall, Winter Lights was enjoyable, unique, and a nice way to experience the stadium in a completely different way. I’d recommend it, especially if you go earlier or plan ahead.

Great winter wonderland event and experience. Lots of family games and activities to enjoy together. Especially loved the spiked cocoa! Needed more seating and bigger fire pit areas for warming and hanging out during the experience. The staff were all super helpful and nice. We went on Friday additional wasnt too crowded. We will definitely come back next year.

Nationals Park Winter Village was a fun seasonal experience, and my wife and I went specifically for the Winter Wonderland event, not for an actual baseball game. It was a great way to see the stadium transformed into a festive winter space with cozy vibes throughout.
The ice tubing was definitely the highlight—fast, exciting, and fun for all ages. Enjoying a cup of hot apple cider afterward was the perfect way to warm up on a cold night. The overall setup was well organized and festive.
That said, the hidden 21+ speakeasy was a bit underwhelming. While the concept is cool, the drinks could be better crafted, and adding light appetizers or small bites would really help spice up the selection and elevate the experience.
Overall, it’s a great winter outing and worth visiting for the Winter Wonderland alone. With improved drinks and appetizer options in the speakeasy, this would easily be a five-star experience.

My husbands 1st MLB Game!
How this man has gone 40 years without EVER going to one is BEYOND ME!
Unfortunately we did NOT pick the best day to go. It down poured on the way to DC, traffic was horrible, DC traffic was even worse. We do have almost 2 hours of decent weather when we got to the game, so that was cool.
It did start raining again, and we left before the end of the game. So I am sad my husband didn’t get the full Nationals MLB experience. Maybe we’ll go to another game? Idk, that traffic man… But we had a good time either way. Definitely recommend.
