The location of White's Ford on the Maryland side of the Potomac is NOT accessible. There is signage on the C&O Canal trail where the Ford is located, but there is no trail to the Potomac. The Ford is accessible from the Virginia side of the Potomac. Use Dickerson Conservation Park for access to the C&O trail.(parking lot available) The walk to the Ford on the trail is about .7 miles. You will pass a lock of the canal.

While everyone knows about White's Ferry, a little north there is the historic Civil War Crossing called White's Ford. It is where the Confederate and Union forces crossed the Potomac River. Check this out. On the Virginia Side of the Potomac there is the White's Ford Park.... Hmmm. Historic!!
