I had to stop here after staying at Happy Hills Campground a few miles up the road. The beginning of the C&O was ridiculous & my front wheel was way out of true including one of my spoke nipples almost completely unthreaded. I was helped immediately so that I could continue my adventure east after completing the GAP. I believe the tech was Andrew that worked on my Salsa & he did an excellent job! Location was perfect 👌

I can't say enough of how comfortable I feel taking my bike to this shop especially after my derailleur got bent up while transporting it in my van.
We were in Little Orleans about to get started pedaling when I noticed this with me then driving to the C&O Bike shop in Hancock.
I went in and explained my situation with Andrew telling me to bring it in and he'd see what he could do?
He then promptly took care of this and had me ready to go out the door in probably under 10 minutes with a charge of $5 with me shocked that it was so reasonable!
I live near Ocean City and had my chain just come off at Assateague for no apparent reason with me taking it to a shop in my area with that technician telling me to leave it and he'd get it done within a couple hours?
When I returned he questioned how I did what I did telling me he had to adjust both derailleurs as they were a real mess with me recalling how everything had been fine prior to just the chain coming off?
Anyhow he charged $35 for what I viewed as a total rip off with this shop never getting me to return unless I don't have the time to take it elsewhere and I really have no other options?
I then decided the next time I went up into W. Md. that I'd make it a point to take any needed work to them because the $5 charge was certification of their honesty!
Well then a few weeks later I had to travel to W. Pa. for a funeral and on my way back home I called them and inquired about getting a new front tire if I stopped by while traveling thru with them saying sure to stop by and thanks for the notice ahead of time.
When I arrived, Paul who is Andrew's twin brother got right on it with me also buying a new seat and also a new mirror as my screw was stripped out with Paul taking care of all of this in a very timely and professional manner.
If you are looking for a honest bike shop that does great work, look no further as this is a shop I highly recommend.

Rented three e-bikes to tour the bike path along the river. Guys were great to work with. Made sure the bikes fit our needs.

We rented a standard bike and an e-bike from C&O Bicycle today. The staff was very helpful throughout the rental process. They talked us through our options and pricing. We had a minor incident with a stick at the midpoint in our ride and they were able to assist us in returning safely.
I would highly recommend C&O Bicycle for rentals, repairs, or a quick stop for some friendly talks.

A Full service, Bicycle shop/rental/Outside Flophouse. Stayed here one night for a hot shower and to wash some of the mud off my bike going NW on the C & O Canal towpath trail. Has an outside covered lounge area with plugs to charge your electrics, a Fridge and covered area to park bike as well as a fire pit with a large supply of dry firewood. Clean porto-potties (actually most all the porto potties on the C & O trail were clean) Five minute walk to Sheetz and some good places to eat. The shop has some really good quality souvenir tops and well made T-shirts. While there, they had a bucket on the picnic table with delicious apples from a local orchard.
