My family was passing through this area and stayed for one night. I would have rather slept in my car. Luckily the beds were clean. The floor of our room was not clean though. By the time you walked across the room once, your feet would be covered in dirt. By the end of the evening our feet were black from the dirty floor. I laid out our shower towels and anything we could step on to get across the room. When we arrived, our room door was also open? We found that odd, but inspected the area to make sure it was safe and clean. The showers looked like they haven't been updated since the 90's. The tub had cracks and different colors to it where it has worn down. The shower head was even cracked and had that crusty, grimmy debris around it where the water comes out and out of the connections to the tub walls. The bathroom sink was just as dirty. If you have any decency for you and your family, spend the extra money to stay anywhere else. Trust me.

Bed was comfortable. Mirror had handprints. Bathroom door dirty. Chair in room should be on way to goodwill or trash..frayed and not clean. .1 elevator not working. Scraps of hand written paper noting things like breakfast or don't hold elevator. Breakfast room was freezing. We had to wear coats. Typical very minimal hotel breakfast.

The Ramada in Downtown Cumberland has a super-convenient location and ample parking. My partner and I really appreciated how clean the room was, and the comfortable mattress. We also appreciated the fact that a modest breakfast was available, though it could have used some eggs and protein that we have had at other Ramadas at which we have stayed. I will say it was pretty disappointing that the check-in process was done at a kiosk with a remote attendant. No disrespect to Avi, he did a great job and was professional and polite, but it would have been such a better experience to be welcomed to Cumberland by a local resident, the impersonal kiosk definitely took away from the experience of visiting a small city in the mountains.

Do yourself a favor: Pay the extra couple bucks for another hotel. This place was awful. As soon as you walk in the front door you see how outdated and decrepit this place is. The stench of stale air and 30 year old cigarette smoke hits you in the face. Peeling paint, maintenance issues, EVERYTHING is extremely outdated. Floor in the room was filthy - keep your shoes on. Bed spread had stains on it. Towels had stains on them. Shower curtain was moldy. Carpet in the hallways stained and filthy This hotel was built in 1972, and it appears the owners have done very little to keep up with the times, technology, and cleanliness. I can’t confirm this, but I swear there was a mouse or some other animal scavenging around the room in the middle of the night. It sounded like it. Sheets and pillow cases gave me a rash. Awful experience. So gross.

Terrible service from the 12AM receptionist this morning. My parents room had NO HEAT in it. When my parents went down to speak with the receptionist, the receptionist said "What do you want me to do? There's no technician available", the receptionist also said they are fully booked and nothing they can do. The receptionist was VERY hostile.

My parents had to attempt to use any covers they could get from the beds to stay warm. My mom did not even sleep the whole night because it was so cold. This is unacceptable and NOT the way to treat guests.
