The monocacy River trail is a nice paved short walk along the river. The trail starts right at the parking lot and goes for 1.5 miles along the river.

It was beautiful woodlands with the wild flowers and rivers and streams. Saw lots birds and even eagle 🦅

Really liked this area, I'm from Florida but enjoyed living in Maryland for a year and a half. It is very beautiful there and may visit again in the future!

6/8/23 water is getting down there. Floating alge is frustrating. Lots of it fishing has been hard. Have to exit kayak at areas to drag through

Beautiful scenery and a great place to kayak. A little shallow at the start and a man made dam about 3/4 of the way to 77. Don't leave trash! Be grateful for the river access.
