Great place for kayaking or tubing! Very peaceful but with the excitement of some rapids here and there. Beautiful and historic scenery abounds. Good put-in at either Devils Backbone Park or the Rt. 34 bridge and take-out at the Rt. 34 bridge, Molly’s Hole along Burnside Bridge Rd., or go all the way to the Potomac and take out at the Antietam Creek Campground.

This creek...get this... it has water in it! No really- I'm serious! 😁
It is a beautiful creek in a lovely setting, especially on the battlefield. Sort of a bittersweet feeling...making you think of the soldiers who probably camped along its banks who were fighting for whichever side they felt was right.... doing their duty...maybe going into battle the next day...maybe never returning home. But it is a beautiful place. Go visit!
P.s. There are no ghosts there...there are no such things as ghosts, so go and enjoy yourself without shivering around about spooks.🙂

Although battles were fought here it now is a very tranquil place to visit. Might even net you some butt, rotflmao!! In all seriousness me and my fiancee saw what i believe was a type or herron possibly a night herron or blue herron along the creek near burnside bridge once you crossover then walk to the right. Great bird sighting even as it literally crop dusted the field as it flew away i think we spooked it. May have had a nest near by.

The Antitam Creek winds its way thru history & hearts refreshing the human experience with unsurpassed beauty and intimacy not only with nature; but, also raising the lows of man(un)kind's horrors to honorable heights of human valor.

A beautiful stream...and much more.
