Great place to bring your children or dogs or a picnic lunch. Walk on the path and down to the creek. Pleasant walk back through the woods to see the dam ruins!

Love this place! Not only is it Historically important but it's like walking through a country meadow. Then halfway through, you can go down to the river where you'll find a small beach are with shallow water
Great for the kid and dog... Hubby too and there's plenty of fish to catch!

We visited here for the monthly twilight hike in June, and we had a great time! The ranger leading the hike was knowledgeable, humorous, and understanding: He let people use their knowledge of the plants/history first before he would teach us. In other words, it was more interactive and far less condescending.

The trail was short but full of floors and birds to see. Seeing the meadow at various light levels during sunset was interesting to behold.

Definitely go on these hikes in the future!
