Terrific views, romantic scenes. This is a must for anyone looking to stretch their legs, take in a beautiful gardens and get fresh air, AND get a bit of history on the people enslaved by the Carter's.
*Not wheelchair accessible. Stairs may be difficult for some.

I went on the house tour today with a bonfire historian and it was great! I learned so much about the families that lived here and about the difficulties emancipated slaves went through. Very eye opening. The house has connections to the powerful Carter family and Eleanor Roosevelt once visited! This is a place everyone should visit.

My husband and I visited early spring. Love the layout of the gardens and flowers already blooming. It was so much fun to walk around and enjoy the gardens. We will definitely be going back. We went on the weekend and it wasn't too crowded, but this wasn't peak season. A lot of daffodils were blooming along with a couple of weeping cherry trees and bushes. I imagine the gardens are even more gorgeous once they are completely in bloom.
