A very nice historical stop along the C & O Canal Towpath.

Great views on both sides of the path. Extensive ruins of a big time cement plant from the 1800s. This place burned down 3 times. Neat how they built right on the bank canal. They were big suppliers of cement to the canal as it was built out. Big old chimney refuses to fall, I wonder when it will?

Interesting geology. Worth a stop if you’re exploring the C&O Canal.
