24 hour access once registered. Took me 10 minutes in person. The nice gentleman at the front desk advised me that he is there about 6 am to 3 pm. Sometimes as late as 7 pm if mission requires. Just need an active CAC or retiree ID.
Frankly a bit smaller exercise equipment area than the new Army gym at Myer, which is also 24 hours. But the bathroom is much better and cleaner here. Showers are private her unlike at Myer. Saunas are about the same.
There is a full basketball court with four additional hoops around it, which Myer no longer has.
McNair has the only standing heavy bag, in MDW, no longer available at Myer.

The Fort McNair MWR Team helped us plan our Family Day event! It went very well! The team was easy to work with leading up to the event, communicated well, and helped set up the moon bounce and grill the day of the event! I would highly recommend them!

they still have the same awful problems from years ago. you can only register for gym access from 11am-1pm on mondays. you can’t register at another gym for access. terrible customer service. those hours are very difficult to get off of work for active duty personnel so recommend building a time block to deliberately register.

The Fort McNair Physical Fitness Center operates under a 24-hour access system 24/7. In-person registration is required to gain access. Patrons may have one (1) guest during manned hours (Monday - Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.). Guests are not permitted during unmanned hours.

Looks nice on the outside, but if you are not here from 6am to 10am Monday to Friday, then you cannot register for access. Really... 4 whole hours in the day to register? I know the DoD wants to save money, but come on man!
