It's hilarious people are trying to make an argument that brownouts will be caused by the closure of coal power plants while they ignore the multiple other more efficient and cleaner energy sources at our disposal. Good to see this plant is closed. Maybe now it can be replaced by another solar farm and battery system in its massive footprint.

It’s sad to see so many coal fired power plants close when coal is so cheap and reliable. Fools want them closed and then will complain when the blackouts become even more frequent.

This plant is a literal nightmare. Do the research and be prepared for the worst. 15,000 tons of coal a day? Clean? They think we are all scientifically moronic, in fact, the State of Maryland is counting on it.

In August 2016 NRG was fined 1 million dollars for the excessive levels of pollutants being released into the rivers at their Dickerson and Chalk Point power plants.
