Staff was great. Train car and engine were very nice and food was as expected. Only negative was boarding at the station counts as ride time and the train stops for a good bit halfway during dinner. It goes slow enough that I'm able to eat while moving no problem.
Definitely worth going especially if they bring out the steam train in the summer!

The scenery is lovely. Viewing the Eagles was wonderful. Our wait staff was exceptional. Thank you from table 12/ D car. Thank you kitchen staff for producing great food in that tiny kitchen. My only negative comment is that the layover in Peterson would be better shortened to 2 hours.

Worth every single penny. The staff are so knowledgeable, and friendly, that I'm honestly blown away. Some folks may argue the tickets seem pricey, however for the line they operate, and amenities/experiences they offer it's absolutely worth it; matter a fact, I'd say it's actually a good value compared to other tourist railroads of similar caliber in the East Coast.

The equipment was clean, and nicely kept, the views were great, the ride was very smooth & enjoyable.

Would reccomend, and would definitely do it again!

Murder Mystery Dinner was a unique experience while enjoying the train ride and dinner while being entertained by the actors and plot of the murder mystery! I would recommend it for something different to experience! Tables of 4 are set up in the train cars. Dinner selections were good. The only negatives would be they changed our table from 8 to 7 for some reason and I would have preferred being on the side where table 8 was. It did take 40 minutes just to get served our first alcoholic beverage. The ceaser salad & dessert was excellent! Crab cakes & filet were ok. The asparagus and mashed potatoes were like warm to cold by the time we ate at 8:30 pm. Wish it was 6-9 instead of 7-10. But all in all a memorable experience!

Dan was our host extraordinaire, serving as an educator, entertainment and waiter on our excursion on the Frostburg Flyer 8531 Janet Lepley, steam engine, from Cumberland, MD to Frostburg, MD. I purchased the Lunch Class ticket so my train car had about 10 table facing bench style seats and the menu included several lunch choices (4) as well as adult beverages at an additional cost. You meet at 13 Canal Street on the 2nd floor in Cumberland, MD where you collect your ticket inside the train station. The trip up and back was a magical experience and the locomotive engineer provides a leisurely 12-15 mph stroll along the majestic countryside of western Maryland. A must see once you arrive in Frostburg is the Thrasher Carriage Museum which has a rare and extensive collection of horse-drawn carriages. Tim provided an expansive historical overview of many of the carriages leaving in me in awe of this period in time. Entrance is free with your train ticket! Consider trying the Tracks and Yaks rail biking as well. Another fun outdoor activity to share with family and friends.
