I've been to many subway/metro system throughout the US and Europe and the DC Metro is by far the best. Well laid out, plenty of signage, no smell, well lit and on the trains that come through Rosslyn there are three different ways to tell where the train is going and which station is coming up (four if you look out the window). When I was there I always got a seat. They don't have pay by credit card at the turnstiles yet by I understand that is on the way. There are info booths that actually have people inside them. There is little vandalism and the trains run frequently.

Rosslyn is one of the deepest stations in the network in order to get under the Potomac. That results in one of the longest escalators you will ever see.

The only reason I didn't rate it 5 is because that is reserved for metros in Asia.

In Rosslyn, there’s an elevator that is accessible from the street and underground. Follow the wheel chair signs if you’re underground.

I love that they have updated the metro cars, at least the one I was in today.

It’s nice to have this metro stop in Rosslyn. If you’re going from Ashburn to Rosslyn, you stay on the same Silver Line and don’t have to change trains. It took about an hour to get from Rosslyn to Ashburn on the metro.

The escalator into the station is quite long but once you get downstairs, the station is very simply designed: trains into DC on the top platform and out of DC on the bottom.

Pretty easy access to Silver, Orange, Blue lines.

Deep escalator and plenty of waiting space.

Be careful of “puddles”.
