The Crain Memorial Welcome Center is a very convenient stop along US-301. The place is clean, the restrooms are well-kept, and the staff is friendly. I liked that they offer maps and brochures with plenty of local tourist information, which is really helpful if you’re just passing through. They also have an EV charger, which is a nice bonus for long trips. The only downside is that access and parking for larger vehicles can feel a bit tight.

I have been to this Welcome Center in May and in August. It’s been my go to place in everything you need to know about Maryland’s great history. Kim and Sharon actually remembered me from my previous visit (if you’re 6’ 4” that probably does help)! They were very accommodating to me as well as everyone else that came in. It’s a wonderful and very clean facility, with places to walk your dog or just walk around and look at the Potomac River. My recent visit was to St. Mary’s County. I’d never been and something of interest, since I first read about it. Check out my review regarding St. Mary’s County seat of Leonardtown.

Pulled off the road to Google things trying to make an appointment to donate blood and the rest area came up. It's a decent place to pit stop.

Always clean, good well light parking. Staff is welcoming and helpful. Great bathroom stop if you are traveling through the area. Plenty of grassy area to give your dogs a break.

This is a nice rest facility. Lots of good parking close to the building and the facility is well taken care of. There's a very friendly visitor center there also. Rest rooms are very clean.
