An absolutely amazing and well preserved piece of history just outside of Frederick, MD! There is a visitor center and Museum that is worth a visit, several trails with markers, Monuments, cannons, and historic homes! The auto tour is very simple and the trails are scenic and beautiful to walk. Some trails such as the Worthington Ford has some fallen trees which I assume from floods that happen there. The Monocacy National Battlefield is an absolute must visit if visiting Frederick or surrounding area!

We did the driving tour and enjoyed seeing the old homes involved in the battle. Fairly well marked. We were able to get up to the homes and take pics on their steps. 1st time at this battlefield.

Great experience run by the National Forest Service with an amazing explanation of the history of the battlefield and a wonderful place to spend Memorial Day with a well done service and Memorial. The Staff are well knowledgeable and extremely helpful and there's plenty of trails to walk totalling nearly 10 miles.

What a refreshing park. We went just to learn, we left educated. We had a great team take care of us. Craig and Matt. They shared the history of the battle and the items that have been found there. Truly an amazing place.

A good battlefield and worth a visit. I highly recommend the small museum at the visitor center, especially the visual production that explains the battle. More than other battlefields I have visited, it is difficult to get a lay of the land when you’re on the ground. I think it is due to the trees and limited development that has occurred here since the battle. There is a nice driving tour of the major battlefield features, though the accompanying audio seemed to be incomplete. There are many trails on the property, but I did not hike these. It is remarkably undeveloped, considering it’s proximity to Frederick and the DC region.
