My fiancée and I took a weekend getaway after he graduated grad school. We planned to stay Saturday night till Tuesday. The place was very disappointing. For one, the restaurant had a limited menu and sub-par food that was on the pricey side. There is also no other place to eat around there, so you have to eat at the restaurant. Additionally, on the first night we stayed the neighbors in the room beside us were loud (screaming and slamming doors) after 8pm, we were about to call the front desk but then they quieted down. Thinking that it would only be a one-night occurrence. On the second night, the neighbors were loud again resulting in us calling the front desk. They did send someone up to address the complaint, which didn't help. Then at 11:45pm that night, the neighbors had their TV up so loud that we could hear it through the wall. It was so loud that we were able to find the channel they were watching and turn our TV down and watch the program from their audio. We called the front desk and complained since it was late at night and we were trying to sleep. After 15 minutes of the noise still being an issue, we left at 12pm at night. Now we were told we were going to be contacted by the manager the next day since we had such an awful stay. They never contacted us until we contacted them. We have had email communication, but their response time is upsetting. They also blamed us for not notifying them the first night of the issue so they could resolve it. Which we didn't because the neighbors had quieted when we were going to call and we did not want to be difficult guest ourselves. They offered us a discount for our next stay because we were unhappy but we have no intentions of returning. We understand it is a resort/hotel and there will be issues but how the place responded and acted after the issue was very disappointing. I had been given many recommendations to stay there but I would not recommend this place to anyone.

My wife and I were married there 10 years ago and are having our family reunion there this year.
The renovations are amazing. The lodge is comfortable, welcoming, and first rate. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and make you feel like you are one of the family. I love the golf course and biking trails. My wife loves the hiking trails.
Make sure you go to the Cacapon mountain overlook at dawn and dusk. The view is awe-inspiring.
The cabins and Old Inn are more rustic but equally enjoyable for those who want something different.
Go any time of the year. This Park will not disappoint.

The lodge was awesome. Everything was clean and new. The pool was perfect for the kids, the hot tub was nice for the adults. The service at both the lodge and the restaurant was outstanding. Shout out to Alexander for being the most amazing server. The nature center and rangers were super informative and engaging. The hiking was great. Cannot recommend Cacapon State Park enough.

Great place to take the family. Clean cabins, affordable prices, wonderfully renovated main lodge with tons of amenities. We come here every year and don’t plan on stopping! Thank you for hosting us every year.
Lots of well maintained hiking and biking trails as well as other things to do as well. I hope to come in the summer one day to check out the golf course.

We visited Cacapon Resort State Park during the summer. It’s a nice spot for kids to play in the sand, and the water is not very deep, which makes it feel safer for families with young children.
However, there were quite a few downsides. The washrooms were not clean, and the water quality didn’t seem great. It gets very crowded on summer days, which takes away from the relaxing experience. Also, there aren’t many good food options nearby, so it’s better to bring your own meals.
If you’re mainly going for simple beach-style sand play and shallow water, it’s okay. We also noticed that Firefly Ridge Glamping is nearby for those looking for a different type of stay. Overall, an average experience.
