This was the center of my worst beach experience ever. Let break it down.
The good: the location. It is ON the beach. The included breakfast is very helpful if you’re there on a weekday when most of the restaurants are closed (as they apparently are on Monday).
The bad: this place is run down. Like, real run down.
The ugly: this is probably the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. After I got my kid to sleep I opened the microwave and found moldy take out boxes. At that point it didn’t seem worth changing rooms, as my kid was asleep and we were only staying one night. I began to think otherwise, though, when I found dried blood on the wall the next morning. After the beach we used the shower: there was an old washcloth on the shower curtain rod.
When we got into the room it was incredibly humid. We didn’t think much of it because it had been storming all day. We turned on the AC. It didn’t make much difference. It wasn’t until night time that I heard the water sloshing inside every time it turned on. I don’t know anything about ACs but I don’t think that’s right.
When we checked out of the hotel we told the front desk guy about our issues. WE SHOWED HIM. No refund or discount was offered because we “didn’t say anything at check in”. Dude, we didn’t SEE it at check in. What do you think, we stabbed OURSELVES and rubbed it on the wall? We somehow got mold to grow overnight in the microwave.
The guys said “it was a clean room”. It clearly was not. After fees, etc. I paid $263 for the room. I have stayed MUCH nicer places for much less. There are way better looking places in Colonial Beach and I advise you to go there instead. It is not worth the proximity to the beach or the crappy free breakfast.

Rooms were ok could’ve been better saw 2 roaches outside doorway. Website said hot breakfast nothing hot about it. Boiled eggs were wilted and rubbery. But the whole town is beautiful and the towns people were really nice. If I come back it’s because of the atmsosphere. Didn’t swim in beach dead fish all on shore. So didn’t feel comfortable swimming in a place where fish is dying.

The Tub was dirty, stained, and almost black. No hot water for the last 2 days of my trip, management said to wait for it. I waited 5 hours with no improvement. Maintenance said it was warm enough for him. Not even lukewarm. The manager told me at check-in that breakfast and coffee were available. Mostly contractors here, so leaving for work usually between 6 and 6:30 am. The office was locked until 7 am. They had 1 type of muffin and 1 type of bread for breakfast. The manager laughed and said others had complained too, but the lady who prepared breakfast wouldn't get out of bed earlier. The chair in the room was torn all over. Also, the microwave did not work. Basically, a dump or roach motel. Told me I could save $15 if I booked directly with him on days 2-3. So, I did that. Business owners and contractors beware!! Don't waste your money. The manager said he would see if he could offer a discount on my next visit if I come back. I will not be back.

Great overnight stay at this hotel! Very clean and quiet. Good Continental breakfast, (would be nice to add boiled eggs for another protein option). Great check-in experience. We had a comfortable mattress and good shower pressure. We will return.

This hotel is very quiet, VERY clean, the man who checked us in at 10pm was so sweet and made us feel very welcome. The breakfast has essentials, coffee, yogurt, banana, juice, bagels, muffins and a waffle maker (very tasty). Good price for how clean and nice the place is, especially since it is literally 10feet from a small section of beach that is lovely! Would stay here again!!
