These cabins are new and nice! Like camping with an air conditioner, clean sheets, and hot & cold spring water in each cabin, plus shared hot showers and bathrooms. Everything bikers need to get up and continue their journey.

We stayed at Canal Cabins this past Thursday and Friday night, and highly recommend this place. The property had everything we neede or wanted for a pleasant stay: coffee, French press, microwave, little fridge, water cooler, room A/C, outside fire pit, picnic tables, bike charging outlets, hose/rags to clean bikes and easy access to trail. The local Dollar General had groceries. Big and Tinys was good for wings and beer. Cheryl Snack Shack (about 4 miles away) has great Reubens and burgers. Schoolhouse Kitchen, a cafe right by the trail, in Oldtown, was recommended, but we didnt have time to try. You won't go wrong choosing this location!

Canal Cabins is such a pleasant place to stay. I met my husband who biked the trail. The cabin and bathroom was clean. The cabin is well appointed with cold a/c, water cooler, fridge and microwave. There's even an itty bitty French press and Maxwell House. We made a fire to make mountain pies. The free firewood was great.

Great place to stay. We had a group of cyclists and we had plenty of room, laundry, two bathrooms, bike wash station. Appreciated the mini fridges in the room.

Perfect Mother-Daughter Weekend Getaway at Canal Cabins
Just returned from an absolutely wonderful weekend at Canal Cabins in Paw Paw, WV with two of my best friends and our daughters - six ladies total, and we were all thoroughly impressed!
The Journey
We drove up from Montgomery County, MD and made a perfect pit stop in Berkeley Springs Friday evening for dinner before heading to the cabins. The drive was easy and scenic, setting the tone for a relaxing weekend.
Accommodations - Simply Outstanding
I have to rave about the bedding situation! As anyone who’s traveled with a group of picky sleepers knows, it’s nearly impossible to please everyone when it comes to comfort. But somehow Canal Cabins managed to amaze all six of us with:
• Incredibly comfortable beds that had everyone sleeping soundly
• Plenty of extra pillows (a rare luxury!)
• The softest sheets we’ve ever experienced at a rental property
When six different women all comment on how amazing the bedding is, you know it’s something special!
Location Benefits
The cabins are perfectly positioned with a quick, easy drive to the Artisan Village in Grantsville, which made for a lovely day trip exploring local crafts and shops.
Overall Experience
Canal Cabins provided the perfect base for our mother-daughter weekend. The comfort level was exceptional, and the peaceful setting allowed us to truly unwind and connect. We’re already talking about making this an annual tradition!
Would definitely recommend for: Girls’ weekends, family getaways, anyone seeking comfortable accommodations in a beautiful West Virginia setting.
Bottom line: When the hardest part of your trip is leaving those incredibly cozy beds, you know you’ve found a gem!
