Last week attending the Easter Egg event at Bladensburg Waterfront Park was an incredible experience! The turnout was amazing—it was a packed event filled with families, fun, and great community energy.
One of the highlights was the LIVE concert by the Gospel Go-Go band Body of Evidence—they absolutely brought the house down! The music was uplifting, energetic, and had everyone engaged, creating a joyful and unforgettable atmosphere. It was also a pleasure to finally meet the team from Precious Productions, the popular Christian comedy tour company, who were in attendance to support the cause.
From the egg hunts to the live entertainment, the entire event was full of excitement, laughter, and positive vibes. It was a beautiful day of celebration, fellowship, and family fun.
If you’re looking for a vibrant community event that brings people together, this is definitely one to attend. Truly memorable and highly recommended!

Well-maintained park but is a bit on the small side. There are however plenty of things to do like hiking, biking, paddling. The best part is that it's only 3 miles from my work in College Park. The bike trails are paved and well-maintained. It traverses the length of the Anacostia River all the way to DC. There are spots along the way where you can sit down and take a break. The river provides more paddling than I can handle and there are areas where trash collects on the side. I saw turtles, herons along the way. This is my new fave park due to its proximity to work.
There is a rowing school in one end of the park so you will have to compete with rowers for space in the launch area if you come around 4 pm. There is a dedicated kayak launch, though. If you wait a bit until the rowboats have launched, you can launch a kayak without bumping into any of the rowers. It is best to kayak downstream toward DC. The one time that I tried paddling upstream, my kayak bottomed out as the water was a bit shallow.
There has usually been available parking when I've come on weekdays after work.

Great area to stop on the Anacostia River Trail. Love to ride my bike along the trail starting at Anacostia Park. Always clean, vibrant, and people enjoying the park. Always stop here when on the bike trail to use the bathroom, walk along the river, or just enjoy the scenery. On a sunny day, I often sit in the gazebo.

This is one of my favorite places to kayak, bike, nature walk and take pictures of wildlife. It offers a great bike path that if you are ambitious enough you can ride into the city on. Kayak and canoe rentals are very reasonable. If you bring your own kayak you can launch here for free unlike some places in DC. There is a decent playground and a real caboose for kids to play on and explore. If I had anything to complain about it would be the parking. It is a popular place and they occasionally have events and there seems to be several row teams that train here so when they are training they or having events parking is a challenge. Otherwise it is easily accessible.
None the less I would score it a 10 out of 10 all day!!!!!
