Fort Washington Park is one of those rare places where time seems to slow down. As the sun begins to set, the sky transforms into a masterpiece of gold, orange, and crimson, reflecting beautifully over the Potomac. It’s the kind of view that reminds you to pause and simply appreciate the moment.
Whether you’re taking a peaceful walk, enjoying the historic surroundings, or just sitting quietly as the day comes to an end, there’s something truly calming about this place. Every sunset feels different, yet every one is unforgettable. If you’re looking for beauty, peace, and one of the best sunset views in the area, Fort Washington Park is well worth the visit. 🌅

Such a beautiful and well maintained park. Friendly staff, great views, large area to explore and cool history. Easy parking. It always feels like such a privilege to have places like this free

Fort Washington National Park is one of the most hidden sunset spots I have ever found. As a scenic sunset spot explorer I’m impressed with what the park has to offer. I’m disappointed that it’s not known to the level of what it offers. Maybe Maryland is sleeping on money making spot by not investing on its attractions.

One of the best park I have visited. Hills, Castels and the best views of the river you will find anywhere. It looks like a movie scene! You you live close and haven't been you have done yourself a disservice.

My aunts son took three of us here just as the sun was setting. Very beautiful sun set over the water with interesting historical buildings to see. Seeing this Fort in the condition it’s in can amaze you and have you think to what could have happened there. The park is very large&clean a nice place to spend some quiet time in the evening.
