Horrible experience. The rustic cabin wasn’t rustic, so much as neglected and downright filthy. We had to wash sheets and blankets the night we arrived before we could even go to bed.

The queen bed is nothing more than an old mattress on the floor. The wood floor, mind you, had multiple holes in it.

On our second day, one of the drop ceiling tiles fell due to a leak in the ceiling. When we told the manager about it, we were met with complete and total apathy towards the situation. We had to clean up the mess ourselves.

Not to mention, we could distinctly hear rustling and scratching behind the walls during the night, and a bird got into the cabin, which we then had to chase out. There was mouse poop on the kitchen towels, so those had to be washed as well.

Absolutely steer clear of this place. The scenery is beautiful, but not enough to make it worthwhile.

DO NOT RENT THE RUSTIC CABIN/HOUSE.

Recently, rented the main cabin/house with multiple bedrooms at the start of the property. I believe there is a difference between 'rustic' and 'neglected'. I would argue this rustic house was simply neglected and not updated or well-kept. I regret not reading the reviews prior to our stay.

Upon arrival, some sheets were dirty. Cabin rooms are also a mixture of DIY projects that are not following any layout/pattern. On the second day of our stay, a ceiling tile (4x2 ft) fell and was soaking wet and left a mess on the floor. The owner did not come to put a new one in during our stay or remove this for us, nor help clean the floor. I removed the soaking tile from the apartment and placed it outside and they never cam to remove it. The only response we received was a mumbled, 'sorry', as he walked back in his house.

The ceiling continued to leak after this in two different spots on the first floor. Additionally, the bathroom functioned but was in quite an interesting state. The floor felt like a waterbed as the tile rose or sank depending on where you stepped, I believe this area was flooded. The wall facing the outside was also bent/warped in a concave manner that did not seem reinforced.

The upper floor had a 'master bedroom' which consisted of the bed laying directly on the floor. The people sleeping on the second floor heard some concerning scratching/animal noises coming from the locked closet on that floor.

For $175 a night, this is ridiculous. I recommend reserving a state park cabin. Not only is it cheaper, but it is also well-maintained. (I am not the type to write reviews, but I don't want someone else to waste their money)

This is one of the most beautiful places in 2 hours vicinity of DC, such a gem ❤️! I love the place. However a couple of things to keep in mind. The cabin is OK, keep your expectations to the minimum, you will have a temp controlled space which is nice on winter nights, fridge, microwave too, so grilling, cooking on camp fire is fun. Mattresses are very dirty, so bring a mattress cover or blanket. Also, you get a porta potty but it is not maintained, so that can be very uncomfortable. If only there was just a bathroom with stalls, what a beautiful place to wind down ❤️

The barn shed we stayed in cabin d was run down the walls were so warped and one of the electrical outlets top cover plate was burned from previous fire and had a hole above it. The bed was so stained and old laying on the floor downstairs. The cabin was piece together inside with whatever they could cover the walls. Someone did the wiring looked like not a licensed electrician in my opinion wiring was pieced together with whatever. There’s trees leaning on big boulders and the roots are on top of the bolders. Looks like the trees could fall at anytime on the barn shed. Worn down and peeling microwave and worn table and chairs. Wasps in porta potty’s stung while using the picture advertising was a long bathroom with sinks and a shower not the case for the porta potty near the cabin. Poorly taken care of owners need to redo these cabins and redo the cabins with a licensed electrician. Manager says you have to buy his wood and can’t use the wood laying on the ground neck of disease the other woods it’s the same wood and trees. Just trying to make money off of people. The grill provided was a tiny round grill on the ground. If it was ever inspected completely in any other city I think they would be shut down. $100. Night for homeless camp ground

Really nice place to camp at. I was in cabin D, it was a bit run down, but the operators were a bit older folk so they really cant keep up. We did have a couple a stray cats, but they were friendly. Service overall was good. Would definitely visit there again, but at a different cabin.
