Glen Echo Park is a place that feels like stepping into another time.

Historic buildings, artists’ studios, exhibitions, and workshops all coexist in this unique space. What I love most is the atmosphere — creative, open, and welcoming.

Every time I visit, I discover something new.

If you are in the DC area, it’s truly a place worth experiencing.

Fall at Glen Echo Park. Was a little past peak fall but still gorgeous. Had a wonderful picnic here with perfect weather. There was painting and the theater active there. Lots of kids on the playground.

I have been stranded here twice by accident
The second time being today, I stood under the aquarium treehouse quitely until I could get hold of someone to get me a ride. This teenage staff saw me and did not acknowledge me at all and tried to lock me in with the gate. I ignored her because I was not trying to start problems. Her boss who cant be more than a year older than her said sorry we have to close the gate then I promptly moved. I find it odd they are both young women but neither have the empathy or spacial awareness to ask a random stranded woman at the very least if im ok, while im shivering under a treehouse. The first time i was stranded i knocked on a few doors just to ask if anyone could call my mom to let her know I needed help getting home. No one answered. This place is a ghost town. Not a great place to ever have any kind of accident if you know you are physically disabled and may need extra help. Dont bother with lyft or uber to transport to or away from here they dont come to the parking lot.
I enjoy the arts classes here at the Yellow Barn, but besides that its not fun to be in. Showing screenings of “aint no back to the merry go round”, a film about glen echos history of segregation, does not erase its legacy with its oddball staff, lack of hygienic bathrooms, refusal to properly maintain buildings. For the amount that their art classes cost they should be able to have hand soap.

This is a great little eclectic place to go where it feels like you're walking into the past, but a lot of the places are now their own separate like stores and workshops. Also they have dance nights and a lot of other things so very highly recommended going and taking a stop in .

This is a vintage former amusement park that has turned into a public and free recreation area with multiple uses. Some of the vestiges of the amusement park remain, including a working carousel and the magnificent Spanish Ballroom. This is a great place for a weekend excursion or an opportunity to social dance in the ballroom. There is a children's theater, glass studio and several pottery studios and art galleries. You could easily spend an enjoyable afternoon here exploring the exhibits and the lovely setting among the trees.
