An architectural marvel, in my opinion, with its vaulted ceilings and endless planes of glass. This airport is smaller than IAD (Dulles), therefore simpler to navigate--especially if you're running late. Security normally moves pretty fast. I've flown out of here at peak and off-season and have never had any issues in over 20 years. The airport is going through some growing pains with several areas under construction. Hopefully, the improvements will benefit us all. The airport "closes" at midnight, unless you're already through security. Dining is pretty limited after 9pm so plan accordingly for those late flights. There's plenty of parking if you come with your own car--prices seem fair. There's also a shuttle service if your hotel offers it, and I also saw a train. If you need to work while you wait for your flight, there are tables with outlets. Likewise, there are many seats with charging ports. I prefer the seats because the connections are less-flimsy. Happy travels!

My wife and I flew in and out of DCA for a sight seeing vacation in 2026. It's an older airport terminal (terminal A) but it was very convenient.

We liked the easy access to the Washington DC area Metro. Very nice gift shops and easy access restaurants are in this airport too.

Hopefully the airport officials will renovate the airport in the near future as some areas of the airport desperately need an updated renovation. Nevertheless, my wife and I liked this airport.

Very beautiful airport! Excellent location when trying to get into DC quickly. Plenty of airport amenities.

As a heads up, the Centurion Lounge wait was longer than many other airports, but the lounge was quite large and had a nice selection.

A highly efficient and well-designed regional hub. DCA is exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and very traveler-friendly. Ground transportation is a breeze with organized ride-sharing zones, plenty of parking structures, and direct subway access. The concourses are packed with great seating areas, plenty of charging stations, and a diverse selection of eateries. A quick tip for travelers: because it handles a massive amount of daily traffic in a tight footprint, car drop-off lanes can get crowded during peak hours, so taking the Metro is highly recommended. The staff are polite, and the overall experience is stress-free.

Main concourse has lots of variety of shops and restaurants. Terminal 2 B Gates have less variety and feel cramped. Easy to catch Metro, uber etc to get into DC. Clean bathroom with really nice big stalls that close completely (ie no cracks between doors). Always a nice view flying in.
