We stayed at Pohick Bay Regional Park from Pohick Bay Regional Park.

We were in Site: 065 a spacious gravel back in with full hook-ups, a picnic table, and fire pit. The site was both long and wide, easily accommodating our 5th wheel, truck, and car with room to spare. It offered plenty of shade from the surrounding trees, and we enjoyed being immersed in nature with wildlife all around us.

The campground provides all the essential amenities, including clean bathrooms, showers, a laundry facility, and a well-stocked camp store for any last-minute needs. Ice and firewood are also available for purchase, and there is a convenient dump station on-site.

There are plenty of outdoor activities within the park to keep you busy. While we spent most of our time exploring nearby attractions, it was nice knowing there was so much to enjoy right at the campground.

If you’re planning a visit to the Lorton, VA area, I would recommend staying here. It was a great experience and a wonderful place to stay!

Very quiet and good size rv parking. Clean restrooms and laundry. Paved main street around campground perfect for bikes or scooters with parental supervision.

The park is a beautiful and inviting place, perfect for walking and gathering with family for barbecues. However, there is room for improvement. To better accommodate visitors, more picnic tables with seating should be installed, and additional parking spaces would ease congestion. The area near the water requires significant development—constructing a proper sidewalk would encourage sports and recreational activities while minimizing risks for children walking with their families.

Pohick bay regional campground is probably the nicest place to relax with the outdoors and leave behind the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia. Great camping sites, store and staff, never too crowded, even when at capacity and really great fishing. Fairfax fire department even gave the kids a tour of their water rescue boat, and took the time to explain the equipment and operation of the craft which they followed up with a great ride around the bay allowing the kids to use the water canon.
Great experience for them and really highlighted the kids morning.
Thank you so much,FFX FIRE DEPARTMENT! GLAD TO HAVE SUCH DEDICATED AND PROFESSIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS SERVING OUR COMMUNITY.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE.

We had an amazing time with a big group. Came with Scouts to Camp Wilson, hiked the trails along the bay to the regional park. Saw all the animals and plants. Beautiful area. Huge parking lots for car, trailers, rv. Bathrooms. Snack bar. Can rent canoes and kayaks. Great boat ramp. The kids really loved seeing the non-venomous snakes, geckos, frogs, insects, deer, etc. Overall an amazing facility. We saw tons of RVs, campers and tents throughout. The place was busy and lively. I would say atleast 20+ families, couples, kids riding bikes around, playing in their playground and fields. We will be back.
