All these posts calling Bill's Place "unfriendly" and "unwelcoming" are BS!! I don't drink alcohol, but I went up to the bar for a Coke, grabbed a seat and made an effort to have conversation with the owner (Jack) and the locals. It turned out to be one of my most memorable stops on that trip. Since then, I've been back a few times with my wife and some friends when we passed through on cycling trips. On the regular what you'll find here are blue collar salt of the earth folks who don't command the respect you might give someone at your favorite wine bar or fine dining steakhouse, but they are still deserving, nonetheless. Of the locals, I met a fellow career firefighter, a couple truck drivers, a farmer and all of them embraced me with stories and laughter. Situational awareness is always critically important as is knowing your audience. Anytime you walk into an establishment that has people sitting at a bar remember this. They are not there because they are thirsty. They are there because this is the social environment that brings them happiness and the feeling of camaraderie. So, try to have an understanding of bar etiquette before you pull up a stool. You don't even have to have any stories of your own to share, but at least be willing to listen to a few. Or, you could go sit at one of this establishments' tables and never speak to anyone other than the waitress and Jack when you go to ring out. Oh, and before you order...they only take cash.

I've been riding my bike past Bill's Place for years but always on days they were closed. I think the open Thursday through Sunday, but check his website. The burger was outstanding and a the cold beer hit the spot after a dusty ride in the C&I Towpath.
Definitely worth the stop.

It's absolutely nostalgic... At 46 years old, I can walk in here as I did as a young child while my uncle was working the kitchen and bar and still feel the same. As always, amazing people, delicious food, and a wonderful atmosphere. Maryland Crab Soup tastes as good as I remember it, and the fish tail was always a fav.

Great place great people too.
They know a lot about what's going on around the place, bikers, to bike riding on trailer to tubing and kyaking and canoe's.
Stop and check it out. Good food there and you feel at home like you know them.
It's 50 plus year's of history at Bill's.

Bill's Place is so worth the drive. The owners are very friendly and the locals are great. The food is a absolutely delicious. I had the homemade MD Crab Soup and fried bologna sandwich with Spicy mustard, it was on point. I'll definitely be going back to try a few other things. Thank you guys for a fun night out.
