Beautiful campground, large lots, well maintained but the sites have only electric but they do have water about every 3 to 4 sites that you can tote to and from to you camper.

If I could give this campground zero stars, I would.
This was honestly one of the worst campground experiences I have ever had. The biggest issue was not even the campground itself, but the way the staff treated us. They were extremely rude, disrespectful, and threatening. Instead of calmly explaining their rules, they talked to us in a very hostile way and threatened to kick us out of the site, even though we were there with our kids.
Before booking, I checked the campground information and did not see anywhere clearly stating that EV charging is not allowed. I booked an electric site specifically because it was advertised with electric service, including 50 amp service. After arrival, I was told I could not charge my EV, and the staff acted like I was trying to plug into a regular 110 outlet, which was not the case at all. I reserved this site because of the electrical hookup. To make it worse, the site we were given did not even support 50 amp as advertised and only had a maximum of 30 amp.
Another issue was firewood. They do not allow guests to bring outside firewood, but we arrived around 7 PM and their own store was already closed, so we had no way to buy firewood from them. That makes no sense and creates a terrible experience for campers.
Overall, this was the most disappointing campground I have ever stayed at. The rules were unclear, the site did not match what was advertised, and the staff’s behavior was completely unacceptable. I felt we were treated unfairly and disrespectfully, and the attitude from staff was the worst part of the entire stay.
I would not recommend this campground to anyone, especially families. There are many better campgrounds where staff actually treat guests with basic respect.

This is a beautiful campground nestled high atop mountains, away from the hustle bustle. It's a slice of heaven perfect for a few days of rest and rejuvenation. The campground is well maintained and the bathrooms were always clean and well stocked with paper towels and toilet paper. Park attendants Shawn and Brittani are wonderful, friendly and helpful. They made me feel very welcomed from the moment I arrived until the moment I left. Ranger Francesca is a wealth of knowledge about the history of the reservoir, dam, and park. The camp hosts at this park really do a great job keeping up with everything. The pond is stocked with fish and is a nice place to relax. The camp store has the essentials and firewood, but Mon. - Thurs. closes too early at 1:00 pm. Most campers start rolling in around 3:00 pm and the store is already closed when they arrive. Site 32 is best for a small pull behind trailer or teardrop as it's unlevel except for the very end of the driveway. It's across from a restroom and a dumpster. Site 19 is shady, with a beautiful back yard and the driveway is mostly level, but it's under a walnut tree and the walnuts are very loud when they fall on the camper. Site 14 is a nice site, a mostly level driveway, but next to a dumpster. These sites have 50/30/20 electric. The drinking water is city water. The dump station is big rig friendly. Verizon 👎 AT&T 👍 NOTE: DO NOT GO UP THE MOUNTAIN THROUGH MCCOOL. TOO STEEP, NARROW, AND A WINDING ROAD WITH NO SHOULDERS, NO GUARD RAILS. TAKE HWY. 50, RT. 220 INSTEAD. (Unless you want to have a heart attack.) 😱

I visited Robert Craig Campground in May '23. I had a great experience. The reason for the 4/5 stars is because they only have electric sites. If they had full-hookup I would give them 5/5. The staff is real nice, very well maintained. The store has weird hours but if you need something, a camp host will open the store on off hours. Restrooms and showers are kept clean. If you plan on doing work while visiting, there is very poor cell signal so consider yourself unplugged. The best cell signal was1-2 bars of LTE, no G. I plan on going back myself but without full-hookup I'll be leaving the family at home.

Nice ACE campground. Most of the sites are very nice all are paved. Some have addition of gravel to extend the length. Some are short and some are far from level even though they’re paved. There is one shower house so if you’re in the higher numbered loop you need to walk through the wooded path or around the road. Bath house and shower house maybe a 6/10. Mostly clean but pretty dated and lack of upkeep in terms of painting etc.
the roads getting from Keyser, WV or Westernport MD are narrow, winding and have steep switchbacks. Not big rig friendly but big rigs can manage them at a low speed. I would NOT take the road to or from Keyser with a camper. We did it getting there and then did 46 to amd from Westernport. There are a couple of nice hiking trails. There’s no path, that we found, from the campground to the lake. The lake is beautiful and clear and has a swimming beach, picnic area and overlook with Waffle rock (an interesting 300 million year old unique geological pattern, and lake construction history.
