I want to take a moment to
recognize the excellent staff at
this hotel. From the moment I
arrived, several team members
were incredibly helpful, welcoming, and professional.
Their positive attitude and
willingness to assist truly stood
out and made my stay a great
experience. Please pass along my appreciation to the staff for a job well done.

Location provided easy access to the Western MD Scenic Railroad (the reason for our stay). The rooms were clean, the pool was clean (hot tub was closed on our visit), the hotel felt safe, and all staff was extremely kind and helpful. Breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast (not the most delicious but suitable). Be prepared that the traffic patterns are.....weird, but otherwise our stay here was great!
★★☆☆☆
$250 for a night. Used Chase points. We could only get a disability type room which was a mistake.
-TV did not work
-The bed was super low to the ground and not comfortable.
-The entire bathroom was a tile that had not been kept clean, so you felt very dirty walking anywhere in the bathroom.
-Breakfast was included, which is nice. It was mediocre, like most hotel breakfasts.
-I am a Bonvoy Gold Elite member, and I asked twice for 2pm checkout (was told yes that’s fine by Kenyon) and checked in the AM to be sure all was good. I was then told no, that was not something they saw on my account. Then the lady looked harder and found it. I should not have to check THREE times to ensure the Gold Elite benefits were honored.
Of note, the location right on the C@O canal trail for hiking, biking, running is very nice.

The location is good and the rooms are fine. My partner and I stayed here the night before doing a three day stint on the C&O canal. They offer breakfast so we planned to eat there before starting off. The breakfast was terrible. Like they were trying to make it bad so people wouldn't eat it or something. The eggs were stale and chewy, like they were over a day old. Same thing for the turkey bacon, physically hard to eat. They would be better off not offering it at as bad is it was, and I travel plenty for work and eat plenty of hotel breakfasts. Started out bike ride hungry, no bueno.

Our stay at Fairfield by Marriott in Cumberland, MD was a very enjoyable experience. Despite the rainy weather which hotel staff could not control (lol), they served us with professional and courtesy. Highly recommended.
