Nice little King George, Virginia gem on the Potomac. Food is quite good, not a top notch seafood place, but very respectable. Servers are always friendly and the atmosphere is great. Tons of outdoor seating so when the weather is nice, it's a great place to be. There is even an outdoor bar. Live music is the norm when the weather is nice.

Ordered the fried popcorn shrimp appetizer which as excellent. The frief seafood platter was reallygood too. The oysters and scallops were great. The crab cake was fair at best. No lump crab and it seemed like a lot of filler. Not bad, just had a whole lot that were better and not a representation of the rest of the platter.

My mom and I came out in the 4th of July for crabs, appetizers, and relaxation hg the water. We wanted to stay for the live music but it got too hot so we had to leave. The food was great, highly recommend the bang bang shrimp. The crabs were a fun experience but slightly high for the effort and amount of crab you get in each soft shell. They were $35 for a dozen. The waitresses and staff were all super nice and made sure to check on us for all our needs. Overall, would come back but might come in the spring of end of summer when it's not quite as hot outside as there was very little breeze.

My hubby and I came here the other day since it was nice outside and we wanted to see a beach. We drove 1.5 hours to get here and we had a fantastic time. Our server was great and super friendly. We got the steamed shrimp, hushpuppies and the smoked whiskey wings (a must get) and everything was very good. The prices are very reasonable and the view from the deck is great. The outdoor area was spread out so we were comfortable during this time of socially distancing.
We will definitely be back!

08/26/2023: Another very good dinner at a very nice relaxed island-atmosphere restaurant. Been here in between these posts, but i guess i am getting old and didn't always post...
Every part of the experience was outstanding with only one exception in that i had ordered the blackened cod, which wasn't apparently "blackened" (seared) in any sense, other than it was spiced. When i mentioned this to our waitress, another person came back and advised that this was how THEY do blackened cod, that it was strictly a spice matter. This isn't consistent with the definitions of the cooking of the fish that i subsequently looked up on internet searches (as i was questioning my sanity), and as our dinners were getting cold, it wasn't worth arguing over. Kind of like ordering a Coke, being served an iced tea, and then being told that this is what they call Coke.
I will say that "their version" was still delicious, as was my wife's shrimp and scallops, and we do look forward to visiting again, just posting a word of warning to anyone expecting "blackened" to mean that which it means to the rest of the world expecting searing. Nonetheless, both texture and flavor were outstanding, just not what i had my heart set on.
Oh - and though the entertainment is nice, a little flashy laser light show is more appropriate for a disco, not an "Jimmy Buffet island atmosphere bar", imho...
2022: First time visiting this local hangout, for a couple hours we were on vacation! I had blackened cod, my wife had shrimp, both were excellent. Wish i noted the name of the guitarist, he was excellent. And the scenery, what can i say but excellent! Will be going back without a doubt!
