This is one of the nicest Amtrak stations. The facilities are always clean. When traveling with the kids, they always make sure we get seated together, no matter what it takes. The red cap gentleman named Jerome has helped my family so many times in the past year that he's become part of our trip and family every time we step foot into this station. I've never had a more smooth, friendly and peaceful boarding process at any other station.

My wife and I would use amtrak constantly because she has family in Albany ny. We would travel from Brooklyn a nice ride . And we would travel with our Rabbit who has since passed away. We never had any issues until one morning leaving Albany and coming back home . I had to be at work but my wife was off .we were on the line and Jackie our Rabbit was in her case under a light blanket. Two men were walking up and down the line shouting have your tickets out. One of the men an older man focused on my wife and asked her what was under the blanket she responded our Rabbit . He yelled you are not getting on this train with that Rabbit! My wife asked what are we supposed to do he pointed to the service desk and said get a refund. And he proceeded to follow her to the service desk. It took everything in me to stay calm .eventually my wife notified our family and they came and picked up our beloved Rabbit and my wife and drove them back home later in the day while I continued on the train alone. I complained to management and they responded stating that while rabbits are not allowed on trains they acknowledged he could've been more professional and caring. The station is clean and has a little cafe to sit and wait and eat . Every time I'm in that station since I think about it !

We had a very good experience with Amtrak today. The train from Albany to New York started on time and completed the journey as scheduled. The service was excellent, and the staff were very supportive.

DO NOT USE THE TAXI SERVICE! Complete rip off! The “so called” dispatcher who actually owns the cabs hurries you into a cab with your luggage in the trunk & then provides you a gauging price on his iPad. There is no meter in the cab. The dispatcher then gives you a card for 25% off on your next ride. It’s a joke! The cab is a beat up minivan yet they charge you the amount as if you hired a private black car driver. My suggestion is to walk away from the thieves at the cab stand. Hire an uber or another ride share company. The train station needs to be aware of what’s happening. So disappointing.

Mike and Jessica helped me with a lost and found incident and they are angels. So grateful for them. Kind, professional and so helpful. I felt better after even just talking to Mike, before the item was even found. I just felt the right eyes on were on it and felt so comforted by his kindness and thoroughness and professionalism. He just truly seemed like such a genuinely good person, too. Give this guy a raise!
