Looked ahead of time to see the services available at the station prior to my departure. Arrived at the station only to find the the restroom and sitting area completely locked up. I had to go around the area to find some place to use the restroom before my train arrived, which added some stress. Like the convenience of the ticketing and elevators but the closed off restroom really threw me for a loop.

My family and I have taken Amtrak stopping at this station going upstate or to NYC and that this station is used by Amtrak and Metro North trains. Also, that this is station is busy because most of the trains stop at here and it has 4 tracks and 2 island platforms.

No restroom, nowhere real to wait inside in the winter. Not a fun option when your train is 45min late, it's freezing, and you don't want to put your backpack on the floor of the room where you can turn on the heat with a button.

An important historic landmark, telltale of things past, the Yonkers Station is a very busy station as it also serves as a hub for AMTRAK and I recommend seriously being very aware of your sorroundings.
Whether entering or exiting the station on your way to and from the platforms, the stairs are quite steep and not terribly well lit. I did not noticed any surveillance equipment.
There are elevators but use your common sense getting into them.
Otherwise, the platforms are relatively clean considering... and they have Departure Boards, soda/snacks vending machines etc.
