I have been paddling from this site for 25 years. It has been a few years since my last visit, and it is now better than it was. The parking along the road is now designated for park users only (not train users).

The addition of a porta potty is a great improvement. You no longer have to walk up to the train station to use the bathroom. The park has benches, grassy areas, a dock for powerboats, and a floating kayak launch platform.

There is a kiosk with information about plans to redevelop the landing with more boat dockage, a boardwalk along the water, and other improvements.  But no date on when it will happen.

Kayakers have many options for paddling. Be aware of the current. You can paddle across the river to Kingston Point Park or up Roundout Creek, which has a public landing where you could stop for lunch. We paddled down to Norrie State Park, which is 7 miles away and was an easy 2.5-hour paddle. If the current is better going north, go to Ulster Charles Rider Park boat ramp, which is 3.5 miles each way.

A nice place to watch the sunset with the sail boats and view of Kingston. There's 2 picnic tables with cover available. Plenty of lawn space if you bring a chair or blanket.

Nice place, I call it as a sunset point, astonishing view of sunset 🌅 going down in Kingston mountains. Good place to spend evening or morning time. You can always park your car on road side or in Rhinecliff station parking lot free for few hours which would be enough for you to enjoy the beauty of the place.

I has small garden on riverfront, few tables and ample of sitting space, which is good place for kids to play, friends to gossip 😀 and dinner 😋😋
